Rui M. B. Carrilho
Rui M. B. Carrilho obtained his Licenciate degree in Chemistry of Biological Processes, at the University of Coimbra in 2006, he received his Master diploma in Advanced Chemistry in 2008, by the same University, and concluded his PhD in Organic Chemistry in 2014, focused on the synthesis of phosphorus ligands and development of organometallic complexes for homogeneous catalysis, in University of Coimbra (Portugal) and University of Pécs (Hungary).
In 2014, he worked as a post-doc researcher in Luzitin S.A., a pharmaceutical spin-off, dedicated to the development of new drugs for use in diagnosis (PDD) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) of cancer.
Currently, he works as a post-doctoral fellow in a cooperation project between the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and University Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain), on the development of sustainable catalytic processes for carbon dioxide activation, under supervision of Prof. Carmen Claver, Prof. Mariette M. Pereira and Prof. Anna Masdeu i Bultó.
He is author of 13 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, 3 book chapters, and more than 30 communications (oral and poster) in scientific meetings and conferences.
